Professional and Team are perpetual licences — one payment, no renewal, and nothing stops working if you never pay us again. Enterprise is annual because it includes deployment help and an SLA.
For one person who wants this off their plate permanently.
For a practice or department that needs to know who's using what.
For IT teams deploying at scale, including air-gapped estates.
All tiers start with the same 30-day trial — every feature, capped at 10 operations. No card, no account.
Sales-led rather than self-serve, because deployment support is part of it — but the numbers aren't a secret you have to sit through a call to hear.
| Seats | Per year | What's included at this size |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | RM10,000 | Org-wide file, silent deployment, packaging help, email support |
| 50 | RM25,000 | Above, plus a named contact |
| 100 | RM50,000 | Above, plus a written SLA |
| 250 | RM125,000 | Above, plus rollout planning with your IT team |
| 500 | RM250,000 | Above, plus onboarding sessions for your staff |
Over 500 seats, or something that doesn't fit these rows? Multi-site rollouts, mixed estates, unusual compliance requirements and staged migrations all get priced properly rather than squeezed into a band. Tell us what you're deploying and we'll put together a tailored proposal.
Enterprise is the only tier where the app makes no network call of any kind — not even to activate. That is what makes it deployable to machines with no route to the internet, and it is a meaningful part of what you are paying for alongside the deployment work and the SLA.
No licence keys to type, no portal to log into before you can work, and no server checking up on you afterwards.
An activation file arrives by email. It isn't a licence yet — your licence is created for your specific machine.
Drop the file onto VellumDoc. One message goes out, your licence comes back, and the app installs it. Done.
Licence checks happen on your machine against a signed file. VellumDoc never contacts us again.
Deactivate in the app, paste the release code into your account, activate the new machine. No support ticket.
Your licence is cryptographically bound to the computer it was issued to. A copied licence file simply doesn't run — which is what lets seat counts stay honest without a server phoning home.
| VellumDoc Pro / Team | Subscription tools | |
|---|---|---|
| The app | Keeps working, permanently | Stops opening |
| Files you already made | Yours, on your disk | Yours, but you may lose the tool to edit them |
| Features you paid for | Can't be withdrawn | Can be changed or removed mid-term |
| Price you agreed | Paid once, fixed | Subject to annual increase |
| Your documents | Never left your machine | Copies may sit on their servers |
We'd rather you bought it once and stayed because it works. A perpetual licence means we have to earn the next version instead of collecting rent on this one.
For Professional and Team, yes. You buy the version you buy and it keeps working — there's no renewal date and no expiry. Enterprise is annual because it bundles deployment support and an SLA, which are ongoing services rather than software.
No — licence purchases are final. That's exactly why the trial is a complete one: 30 days, every feature, no watermark, no crippled output, and no card required. Try it on your own real files first. If the software doesn't do what this site says it does, that's not a refund question — tell us and we'll fix it.
Every feature, with no watermarks, capped at 10 operations or 30 days — whichever runs out first. No card and no account. When it ends, nothing you've already produced is affected; only new operations stop.
Below five people, Professional licences work out cheaper and simpler. Team exists for the seat visibility — knowing which staff member holds each licence — which only starts mattering at a handful of users.
Each staff member types their work email when they activate, so your account lists seats by person rather than by an anonymous machine name. Each email covers two computers. If someone tries to activate beyond the seats you bought, they're declined and you're told which address it was.
No. Sign in to your account and release that seat, then activate the replacement. If the old machine still starts, deactivating there gives you a release code that frees the seat immediately. Releases are rate-limited to prevent abuse, not to inconvenience you.
